Doug has some great points.

Fashion means selling the garment! You must show the garment to its best. Removing wrinkles and showing details. The model is basically a "mannequin". Glamour is showing off the model and certainly contains some sexual overtones.

My advice to any photographer is to go where your interests take you, and not to force yourself to go in a direction that you think you "should" go.
