You are pretty much right in what you wrote, but I have to add a "Yeah, but...". The shot you posted is very close to a catalog fashion type shot (one of the real money makers in pro level photography), but it isn't quite there. In the years I've been seeing your work, you have made substantial progress, but you still have one problem, the details, the little details.

Years ago, a photographer who is no longer around on the forums said "Professional photography is all about the small details". That means learning to routinely 'see' the smallest of details in an image befoe we click the shutter. In the shot you posted, I see these 'small details'. The seamless background has subtle ripples in the texture caused by the overall side lighting. There is a strong shadow on the foreground, again caused by the strong sidelight. There are wrinkles in her pants around the knees which could probably be removed simply by puling downward on the cuffs while she is holding the pose. Finally there is a lack of detail in the texture of the front of the sweater which could be corrected by an additional sidelight equiped with a grid or snoot.

Your overall lighting good and the pose is classic catalog. But look for those small details, the details which can make all the difference. You need to light every small part of an image, any image. You've acquired the basic craft and the 'eye', now it's tinme to take it a step further, that step many see incorrectly as a quantum leap, into a more serious level of shooting. My advice? Slow down, relax and take the time to'look' and think about all parts of the image, look at the fabric, the background, the shadows and every other part of the shot. You are soo damned close! Otherwise I wouldn't bother.
