legally the minor is too young to sign for themselves, and legally, the parent can't sign for the minor LOL
the main reason minors/parents sign, is that it is proof that both parties are in agreement to doing the shoot, and that is the best you get
parents need to be more dilligent, ask what the use of pics are for, make sure they get it in writing, make sure the photog gives them a copy of the release they sign (yep 90% of photogs do NOT give copies of what the parent/model signs)
if photog keeps it clean, they will never have a problem if the model & parent are both willing to shoot.
I could go on to the horror stories of gwc's shooting down the top or up the skirt ... I even had one guy shoot down Janelle's top, then post that pic to omp, an argue with me that her nipple wasn't a nipple, but a shadow!!! it took a week to have him pull the pic, when I got the CD 8 months later, that whole sequence of pics was NOT on the CD ... gotta wonder what he did with those shots? and I WAS sitting right there, did not realize that angle of posing in that top would produce what it did
photogs, when you shoot minors, make sure both model & parent are doing so willingly, and keep it clean, don't give either party any reason to regret the shoot, plus get the signatures of both a parent and the model, that is all you can do, even though it isn't a legal, binding contract. If you shoot a minor model that shoots alot, and always has a parent in tow, you should not run into any problems
... it's the newbies out there that ruin it for the seasoned models.
then, if you shoot your own kid, no one has to sign anything, even better when she's getting paid by a designer to have mom shoot her LOL
