David, I shot with yoursters as young as 11 for their agencies portfolio, but each time with one or both parent present. I also shot some youngsters few year back in workshops, but again at least one parent present. Go figure, if a parent can't take out 2-3 hours out of their time for their seventeen years old daughter, that should tell you that their support is very superficial and can go snakeye on you, risk not worth taking. If a seventeen year old can't wait till she is eighteen to be shot by a professional photog she will probably find GWC or few and that's where her modeling will come to the dead end. Another way to look at it is to compare the risk to possibly shoot with a supermodel potential, and even then I have been known to turn them down. Pictured is Kylee I shot few years ago in Las Vegas when she was only fourteen, but with both parents present.
