I think casting notices for a particular project are fine. I have done that.

I agree though that there are problems with the numerous posts from agents/managers looking for models to sign for representation/management.

There may be an occassion where one is pressed to fit a specific need for their stable. Perhaps you are in need of short Filipinos. The net could have legitimate value.

I personally would be willing to forgo those posts in an effort to insulate models from some of the scams.

That is different, however than casting for a specific booking. If you have a project with a need that has to be filled, absolutely use the net if it is an appropriate casting source. I certainly have done that.
