There is no such thing as the "Cannes Film Fest Tradeshow."

There is the Cannes Film Festival, and the Cannes Film Market. Both take place at the same time, and Cannes is flooded with stunning starlets and wannabes who get there at their own expense and are happy to pick up a couple of bucks passing out flyers, topless at no extra charge. The town is also flooded with hungry young filmmakers, many of whom have graduate degrees in film, who will not only pass out the flyers for a free meal and party invite, but will happily hype the movie with a considerable degree of industry knowledge.

So why would anyone legitimate pay airfare, exhorbitant hotel accommodations, and $200 an hour for something they can get for nearly nothing?
