You seem to be holding angle of view constant in your comment on DoF (which is odd, since the original statement held focal length constant, and allowed it to vary over film size). I was referring specifically to constant focal length, which does yield a variable angle of view over different formats.
But I certainly agree with your point. There are lots of other differences between film and digital as well. Important ones are the handling of highlights and very dark areas (clipping at the top and quantization error and noise at the bottom) are quite different and generally less desirable than for film. And I say that from the perspective of a dedicated and happy S-2 user.
