Saran Wrap is not nude, but it might as well be. Since we are on the subject, here's my take on the No Nudes thing. Every model is different, but some of the ladies who I have had the pleasure of working with interpeted things differently. Here is some examples of No Nudes:

1. No means no, model never takes off bra, or panties, or poses for a picture without both on, and changes in another room.

2. No means nothing showing, model might take something off, but won't pose if anything might be showing. Model is usually modest, but not overbearing about it, and changes in the same room.

3. Nothing shows in the final pic. This is usually what it means. Model is pretty open minded, poses within limits, something might be showing to photographer, but model expects it cropped in the final image. Model changes, undresses in the same room, thinks nothing of it.

4. I Can't Explain) Model is very open minded, undresses in front of photographer, strikes poses nude for him to "see what she looks like, (no pictures)." Poses for the camera almost anyway she is asked, comes up with poses and great ideas, and walks around the studio nudio during breaks.

Insists upon review of every single picture, a custom release allowing the use/showing of only certain pictures, and either the photographer has to delete anything else, or put in writing that he never displays it. Usually wants copies of those images, and comes back to work with you again.

Communication with the model is the key to the whole thing. Every model is different, and we will never understand women. Some do it one way, some do it another. The quicker you figure out what the model is comfortable with, the better the shoot. I don't care what the model considers it to be, as much as working with her, on her terms.

The model does not have to pose for you, you do not have to work with her. But if you both can agree on terms, that is what successfull photo shoots are based on in my opinion. Two artists in a collaboration, that both are happy with later.

James
