I think you are way off base. The only communication most models/photographers have with any potential client is their book. They do not care if you dress nice or smell good. They want to see if you can deliver. What are you going to do? Send a short note saying, "You know if I had given the model files with better resolution the images would look a lot better." Most of my clients have portfolio drop offs. First they want to see your work then if they like they may invite you in for a discussion at a later date. None of them have time to talk to every photog that drops off a portfolio. Same goes for the models. First models to get a go-see is one that presented well in their book.
