that was me that agreed and yea, I am on your side, photographers are my main source of work right beside ad agencies.

This is not always true but I find it true 95% of the time....the bigger the photographer the smaller the ego. I care about the ego because if anyone on the set has an ego out of control it can make the day pretty miserable for others on the set.

I did a job a few months ago with the biggest name I have ever worked with, I dont work with too many big names in my market. I arrive at the job and I start to unload my car, this really nice guy comes out and starts unloading for me and hes just really friendly, I assume an assistant to the photographer....he carrys all my heavy stuff and I am telling him "no, I can carry this stuff" he wont let me...he opens all the doors he carrys stuff upstairs and puts it down and then I hear someone call him....it's the photographer! I am in shock, the entire day he is waiting on people, getting models soda etc. He had 3 assistants and I can tell you, not one of them worked as hard as the photographer. I left that shoot feeling really good because it was really one of the best work experiences of my life...he even stopped at one point as he is looking through the lense and said..."Mary, you did a great job, the makeup is beautiful" that was nice of him, I dont always get feedback on the job, sometimes later but not when I need it. What I notice is in the work for peanuts jobs I have seen a lot of big egos, compensating for lack of pay or respect in the market? who knows, I'm not a shrink and to be honsest I dont care what makes them egomaniacs but I do know some of the egomaniacs I have worked with do great work, they should be big fish but they arent and I assume its because nobody likes them personally enough to give them the breaks they need.

I was not by the way referring to anyone here with the ego comment, I dont know most of you.
