Whenever I can substitute the word "blue" for the word in question and it still makes sense and is grammatically correct, it's an adjective.
"all of his work has been copyrighted."
"all of his work has been blue."
In this case the verb is "has been" (or maybe just "been" - it's been a very long time since high school grammar class).
But I have no doubt that "copyrighted" could be used as a verb in a different sentence construction.
All of which gets us away from the main point, which is that copyright is the "right to copy", not the "write to copy". Hence "copywrite" and "copywritten" are incorrect.
