Bill, a number of years ago I was a big game hunter and one thing I learned from my hunting partners is to protect my firearms. Almost everyone of them had a gun safe, way too heavy to be carried out by a casual burglar when you load the bottom with 300 lbs of leadshots. Well, I did buy one too, but since then I got out of the big game hunting and sold those expensive high caliber weaponry, but kept the gun safe to store my valuables. I wouldn't dare to leave my cameras in the studio, they come to be stored in the gun safe when I leave the studio for home. I even get nervous when I leave them in studio when I break for lunch with a model. For some of the photogs who have the expensive digital equipment like some of us do it may just be worth while to spend $1000 in a reputable gunshop to buy such a safe. It's ironic, models are always concerned for their safety, now we photogs suffer the same fate for our equipment.
