: In NYC....at the lower end of Mahattan(tribecca district andothers) there's a publication that comes out with regular frenquency....it's about $2-3 and is a hot sheet for those looking for modeling jobs and casting notices....

I can think of three such right now: Backstage, Variety and Show Business News. The Ross Reports also has job-related information in it. All are available on the newstands.

In addition, Breakdown Services publishes a daily list of castings through the internet. It is officially available only to qualified agencies, but is pretty widely available under the table from actors who are plugged in to the system well.

But very few of the jobs in these publications are for models. They are oriented towards acting jobs. It is rare for a print job to be advertised.

Some modeling jobs are available in online listing services (some free, some paid) but they are almost all low-level junk jobs that agencies won't touch (for good reason). Sometimes better quality jobs are advertised, but it is very likely that the person placing the ad actually can use respondents for the casting. These jobs are used as bait to bring in models to an agency or a photographer, not to actually find models for the advertised jobs.
