my post was called "if you don't know them, don't trust them" makes sense, like the title of this one, all people are scum until proven otherwise, which contradicts innocent 'til proven guilty. I have been stabbed, and shot, by our fellow man, just minding my own business.

: But you are right, there is more to the story, some of which I'm not at liberty to divulge. Let's just say part of the "rest of the story" is that her screams caused others in the hotel to call hotel security and the front desk.

Well, you leave out details, it is hard to make a descision, we are not the jury that will ultimately hear this. But then again this is now public record, so you can pull it up from the local courthouse's website if she filed charges, but I say let it go, I am not concerned with names. Also, not at liberty to divulge? FYI this forum is 'public' domain, it can be used in a court of law.

: I guess it was also her fault that the predator had used someone elses name when etting up the shoot. That someone else was an actual person who passed all of her background checks with flying colors.

Did I ever say it was her fault? Did I? Ignorance is not malice. There I go again quoting a former LA DA Gil Garcetti (now photographer). Models will come up with a method now that will prevent this from happening again.

Ofcourse where there is a will there is a way. Any bit of security can always be circumvented.

: : NEVER EVER SHOOT WITH ANYONE IN A HOTEL. : I tell all beginning models, never shoot in hotels, outdoors, homes/apart(resided in by the photog) or any 'free' locations.

: I suppose then, you would tell models not to shoot with some of the greatest photographers alive today...

Did Helmut Newton call her? did he impersonate Helmut Newton? Have you ever seen HN shoot? He usually has a fairly large crew and trailer. Like he would find himself cruizin around a hotel room in the south alone anyway. He is kinda creepy too. Don't compare a local small time photographer with anything like that. Besides, models can easily find pix of those guys to verify their faces. And leave the other names out too, because the big thing left out is all those other people had more than just two people immediately present at the shoot. There were probably other models, make up, hair, chaperones. So back off. I think yipee! shooting at a hotel is a novel idea, albeit lowbudget-tacky thing to do.

: Why can't we set aside our own insecurities and honor a model's wish to be accompanied my someone she knows. But then again, maybe that would ruin any chance of "getting lucky", or whatever!

Yes, I agree, I love models to bring parents especially to shoots.

: My original post was made simply as a warning to models, take a chaperone with you if you don't know the photographer well. What I tell new models is if the photographer objects to a chaperone, don't go to the shoot!

DING! DING! DING!
Again, I defer to the first paragraph: my post was called "if you don't know them, don't trust them"
