Hi All,
I recently purchased the Canon 70-200 2.8L lens for my Canon 10D. As some of you may know, it's one heavy lens! My instincts tell me to carry the camera at the base of the lens as thats where the least stress will be for the mounting point. That's also where the tripod mount is. My question is this, is there any danger of a stress fractor to either the lens or the camera if I just hold it from the camera body? With the lens on, it's so front heavy that I feel like the lens will just snap off at the body if I don't support it constantly. Does anyone have any experience or solid information from Canon on the proper handling of a camera/lens combo like this? I sure appreciate your input! thanks :-)
