.....everyone has a lucky shot, studio or otherwise. But it's knowing the scene and what light will make it work, not just accepting the light that is there. Or using what light is there, to it's best advantage. Sterile, I think not, even in the tiniest of situations.

: The point is... you have little to no control over lighting, sky conditions, background, etc. Even Adams admitted that his Moonrise over Herandez was a "lucky shot"
: I believe that is why most of us shoot portraits. We can control the lighting, mood, expression, props, background, etc.
