Good landscapes are sterile only to those too narrow to appreciate the artistry. If one must view the entire world of photography through one lens, then that world will be incredibly narrow.
Since it appears that you think only staged shots have any worth in the world, then perhaps you should ponder why other people find richness and fulfillment in many genres. Is it because they have no convictions? Or is it because they see the world as a splendid place, with many an opportunity for a magnificent image?
I suspect that the latter is more true.
We've all made valiant, if sometimes vain, attempts to encourage you to get better in your chosen field, no matter what we might think of the field. It's terrific to see somebody making an attempt at accomplishing something.
But rather than address the issues at hand, you label other people's work as sterile, porn or drug store color.
It seems to me that you need to take a good, long look at what you've encountered here.
Between us, Doug and I have had about 75 years of photographic experience, creating images for publications and for galleries. MP Hunt has been doing his stock photos for quite some time. Christian is a highly skilled fashion photographer. Yet all these people have something in common: They think you need to get better, at least with what you're presenting on the Web.
Not one of them would have paid any attention had they not thought you might be capable of getting better.
So, you dismiss their work as snapshots or worse, just because it doesn't come from the same place as yours?
That's either the sign of someone with a seriously swollen head or somebody with a lot of issues.
Good luck in your photography. Frankly, I don't mind anything you've said about me or my work. I just don't like it when somebody dismisses in a phrase or two some of the fine images of our time.
(BTW, tell me there's no luck to your outdoor shots. Then, maybe you'll get rained on at your next shoot, or a solitary cloud may hang over it.)
I'm posting no photo, because you don't deserve one.
