You said... "you're right, how foolsih of me to think that I might know more about psychology and social interaction theory after getting two degrees in it."

Well, I never said I know more about "psychology and social interaction theory" than you did - did I? My question was how what you know relates to photographs and pupil size in photographs. If going out of your way to make a pupil bigger was standard practice, I'm sure I would have heard about it in my 15 years of studying photography. I'm sure I would have read it somewhere - don't you think? Ahhhhhhh, maybe it's because I was studying photography and not psychology.

In regards to your statement.. "Many portrait photogs will actually enlarge them a little after a shoot." I've studied a lot of great portrait photographers and don't seem to recall them saying how important it is to make sure the subjects pupils are enlarged. I have coffee table books from several of the most famous portrait photographers and can tell you that your statement this is NOT consistant with my studies.

Listen, I'm sure there is a niche for people who enjoy looking at pictures of oversized pupils, just as there is a niche for people who enjoy looking at pictures depicting bondage, midgets and she-males, but in the mainstream market - enlarging someones pupils is a no-no and not widely practiced. Contrary to what your psychology studies may have told you. I never studied psychology, I studied photography and the works of photographers.

You said...."The internet is a powerful tool and if you're going to act like an ass you can do your own research." Yea, I've done this already - and have not found one piece of material that teaches, shows or otherwise advises photographers that oversized pupils is normal practice in photography. Now, as I stated before, if you can correct me on this, I will stand corrected. So far, you've shown me nothing that relates your studies to photography as you stated in your first reply to me..."Enlarged pupils convey attraction and that "come hither" feeling that makes people think they have a shot with the model and she really does want you, thus making people buy things and look at ads." Once again, I'm sorry, that has to be some of the funniest crap I've ever heard. So, show me where to find information on how all of this relates to photography. You showed me one piece of information that was internet based - and it had nothing to do with photography. If this was so widely practiced, believe me...it would be as easy to find 'on the internet' as metering techniques, lighting techniques, posing techniques and other "photography" related subjects.

Cheers -
