First, I love this image. It's clean, provocative, and I loooove the eyes. Green eyes get my attention. I've always been very partial to green eyes. But are they really green?

I looked through your other images of Reanna. I especially like #47 where she's on the couch with her legs up and her hand and head resting on her knees. But back to the eyes.

What is it about eyes in photographs. Of the images of Reanna where her eyes are seen clearly, they mostly appear green. However there are a couple where they look almost blue, or at least it's hard to tell.

I'm just using Reanna's photos as an example. I see this all the time, photos showing eyes that look one color, then another photo where they look a different color. Two well known figures that come to mind are Faith Hill and Gwyneth Paltrow. Both have deep blue eyes. I only know this for fact because I've read it, I've never seen either in person. And I certainly couldn't say by the various photos or video I've seen.

In many of Faith's photos her eyes appear brown, but most of the time blue. Gwyneth's eyes in both print and film or TV are usually blue, but often green. And I see this difference in eye color with other people as well.

So here's my question(s) for photographers.
1. What does it take to photograph true eye color?
2. What can/do you do that makes the eyes appear different?
3. Is it something conscious that you control? Or is it chance?
4. Is it important to capture the real color of eyes? Does it really matter?
5. Am I the only one who ever sees these differences?? :-)

These are questions I've had for a long time. I'm anxious to hear what others think about this.
