In a word "YES!"
You need to research the feuding between the pictorialists
and the "F-64" group. Famous pictorialists included great
photographers like William Mortensen, Lenoard Missone, and
Ann Brigman. One the other side were people like Adams,
Weston, and Newhall.
A few of us carry on the pictorialists tradition........
