I'm not to familiar with membership e-commerce but I know a LOT of merchant accounts do not accept companies with adult material. Have you tried emailing webmasters of similiar pages and asking them? While your at it you could ask to swap links to increase link popularity.

Wow, there really is a lot to running a legitamate business online. It takes 100's of hours in research and a business plan http://www.sba.gov/hotlist/busstart.html
