......but modeling is more then just beauty. It takes guts, determinination, the ability to stand up to rejection, and a strong work ethic.
My suggestion would be to put your best face forward first and either find a photographer that has some experience in the type of modeling industry you are looking into. You can end up spending more time and money TFP'ing with inexperienced photographers when in fact you may find it beneficial to research photographers in your area and literally invest in some good photography to initiate putting your best image forward. However, finding good photographers that want to practice themselves can be beneficial in getting yourself use to the camera etc, so I like to call it TFE, trade for experience. Modeling is acting but that act is captured one frame at a time in still images and good models are not shy about projecting their image in more ways then just stand there and look pretty. Being beautiful is a dime a dozen, being a model is something else.
As working models, it is not as easy as it is portrayed. This is not to scare you but to understand it is not a bed of thorn free roses.
Height, weight, sizes are all important. Does not mean you have to be skinny minny and 6 feet tall. There is so much to this industry, what is needed in New York is not needed in NC, per say. If you get to Illinois, give me a shout.
