Cami, I'm not familiar with your site (I'm on the Right Coast) so this is not about it.
As I understood the topic, the discussion was about a web-based system to list talent and models, not castings.
It's certainly true that some (yes, lower paying) jobs are available through published sources on and off line. It's also true that a great percentage of the jobs published (at least in my area) are very low end, or simply not real. Lots of nonsense to wade through to get to the good stuff. When you see the real castings come in from real clients, and then see what use is made of that in some of the web-based listings, it turns your stomache a bit.
But that isn't meant as a blanket indictment, and casting services serve a useful purpose, especially if they are moderated by a person who understands the industry.
