: The truth of baby and child models... is that most of them are the product of models... working models who just had a baby.:

I don't know what statistics you are referring to, but the real truth is not what you mention. There are working models who have children who work as models, just as there are doctors and firemen who have children who model. The truth is that there is only a small percentage of model-parents who are actually models.

I work with the five most active child modeling agencies in NYC and one, if not, the largest in Miami. I have shot hundreds of projects over the past 8 years. In my experience, your hypothesis does not hold water.

The children in my Workbook spread (above) are great examples. Four of the children are from the same family. The mother and father have worked in fashion business for years but not as models. Each little model has a list of credits longer than any model on this forum, including DKNY, Ralph Lauren Polo, and Toys R Us. Another model who's family owns an importing company has a serious list of credits including the GAP and Keds and also has two national commercials running now.

I see children who look exactly like their parents and children who look nothing like there parents--all who model. Additionally there are several adopted children who model. The common denominator is that the family has a flexible enough schedule that allows for countless castings and shoots. That is the reality of children being involved in modeling -- time.

The original poster should send a simple clear headshot to her local legitimate modeling agencies to get their opinions for her child's chances in the local market.
