I don't know about "all of us," but I did fork over the bucks and go digital, after spending over 25 years burning film for a living. A DCS 760, BTW, is only about $5,500, not $7,000, unless of course you also need to buy lenses.
May I suggest that a Canon D60, Fuji S2, or Nikon D100, each for around $2,000 would be a good alternative to a DCS 760. All of them will produce better prints than you can get from 35mm film.
