The polarizer will absorb about 1.5 stops of light. When you are metering you MUST meter with it in place, either over the lens with the reflective meter built into the camera or over the white sphere of your incident meter. With print film meter the shadow side of the subject, thereby guaranteeing that the shadows will receive adequate exposure for printing. If shooting reversal film (chromes) meter for the highlights. I always use a handheld incident meter which will virtually never 'lie' to you (unlike the reflective meters!) Also print film loves slight overexposure, but hates underexposure. NEVER underexpose print film, ever.
